Digital Extremes recently wrapped its 159th development stream with a bombshell announcement. Warframe will soon see its first major expansion of the year and it’ll pick up exactly where The New War leaves off.
Angels of the Zariman will bring Tenno back to one of the key locations in The New War to explore even more of Warframe's lore. The New War gave us our first true look at the origins of the Tenno and the terrible events that saw the Zariman stranded in the Void. Even still, there are many unanswered questions after the events of The New War, and Angels of the Zariman promises to be a direct follow-up to the system-shattering events of New War.

In addition to a new quest where the Zariman will be a new location in the Origin System, Angels of the Zariman will also bring a new Warframe, two new game modes, and several QOL changes that will enhance the core Warframe experience. Sixteen augment mods will be reviewed and rebalanced, and Digital Extremes plans to rework Eximus-type enemies to make them easier to identify and harder to kill.
New War's Archons will also become a new enemy type but will be reworked to become a threat to Warframes and not just The Drifter. How Archons will be implemented wasn’t discussed, but we can likely expect them to be a part of the new questline.
Also revealed in the Devstream was some more mixed news. TennoCon 2022 will once again be a digital-only affair thanks to the ongoing certainty surrounding the pandemic. While this is certainly disappointing to some, Digital Extremes was able to put on a pretty good show last year.
