There is finally new information on the way for Warcraft 3: Reforged. Since the launch of the game, there has been little to nothing from the development team for the game. The last official announcement for Warcraft 3: Reforged was in April of 2021. However, that will change soon. When a Twitter user asked if any news was coming from the Warcraft 3: Reforged team, Blizzard president Mike Ybarra replied with, “You’ll hear from them in soon (in June).”
This news comes after a tumultuous launch that saw many users review bombing the game on Metacritic. One user stated, “I was really looking forward to this game. But it has almost none of the promised features. The graphics feel worse than the original, they lack heart and clarity. There is no working ladder, multiple other battle net features are non existent. I have requested a refund because I am so disappointed.” The user score for Warcraft 3: Reforged on Metacritic is 0.6, one of the lowest on the site.
Warcraft 3:Reforged is absolutely due for some news regarding the state of the game. There were many features promised by management at Blizzard that were cute due to budgeting, as well as internal issues with management. Some of the features removed include the clan system, ranked ladder, and the ability to play on custom maps for solo player and campaigning. Ranked ladder eventually made it into the game, but unfulfilled promises have left a bad taste in the player’s mouth.
