It's been well over a year since Sony first launched its PlayStation 5 console, yet it's still virtually impossible to walk into a store and walk out with one in hand. Chip shortages, supply chain issues, unprecedented demand, scalpers, the COVID-19 pandemic, and other factors have all made it extremely difficult for fans to get a PlayStation 5. Unless one is willing to bite the bullet and pay well over the MSRP to buy a PS5 from a scalper, one of the few ways that consumers get Sony's new console is by getting lucky with online restocks from major retailers.
One of the retailers that seems to restock PS5 consoles the most is Walmart, which will have a PS5 restock later today. The Walmart PS5 restock will go live today, February 24, at 9am PT/11am CT/12pm ET, but there's a catch. This particular Walmart PS5 restock is exclusive to Walmart+ subscribers, meaning regular customers can't just sign on to the website and try to add a PS5 to their cart like they normally would.

There are pros and cons to this approach when it comes to PS5 restocks. The downside is that a Walmart+ subscription costs money, meaning potential new PS5 owners are technically still paying more for their new console than they would normally, even though it's still considerably less than if one bought a PS5 from a scalper. The bright side is that this makes it more difficult for bots and scalpers to ruin the restock, making it easier for customers willing to sign up for Walmart+ to secure a PS5. The PS5 restock is still a couple of hours away at the time of this writing, so anyone interested still has time
