Not many people would have guessed that, almost nine years later, Grand Theft Auto 5 would still be the most recent installment in the long-running franchise. As one of the highest-selling video games of the last decade, Rockstar has been hesitant to move forward, it seems, given how much of a cash cow this iteration, plus GTA Online, have been. Aside from waiting for the sixth game in the series, many fans have been twiddling their thumbs waiting for current gen versions of the game to come to PS5 and Xbox Series. With the developer recently confirming some more information about it, some images have emerged showing how it will compare.
In a tweet posted by GTA Series Videos, a fan account dedicated to all things related to Grand Theft Auto, some screenshots from the upcoming current gen console versions of GTA 5 have been uploaded which compares the game to the current PC port. When stacked on top of each other, it becomes fairly obvious that there have been some improvements to the game.

For example, the hill that bears the Vinewood sign shows the difference in the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, such as extra detail along the winding road itself, as well as a subtle change in the color and lighting of the area. This is in comparison to the PC version of GTA 5 running at 4K resolution. Similarly, a nighttime screenshot shows a rather noticeable difference in lighting, especially when looking at the headlights of the cars. There also appears to be a few more cars on the road, though that could be just based on when each image was captured.
