Vikings: Valhalla season 3 has added ER star Goran Visnjic to its cast. Vikings: Valhalla is a Netflix spinoff series of the History Channel's Vikings, which premiered in 2013 and came to an end after season 6 in 2020. The sequel series dominated in Netflix's Top 10 viewership rankings after its release in February of 2022, and was renewed for season 2 and 3 just one month later.
Set 100 years after Vikings, Valhalla follows the stories of some of the most famous Vikings in history, such as Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett) and Freydís Eiríksdóttir (Frida Gustavsson). Though the cast of Valhalla has been largely comprised of actors lesser-known in the US, some notable cast members currently include The Walking Dead alumni Pollyanna McIntosh as Queen Ælfgifu, and The Borgias's David Oakes as Godwin. With Valhalla season 1 having garnered more than 265 million hours watched globally, itis already proving to be an incredibly successful show, and has begun to bring more star power to its upcoming seasons.

Deadline announced today that Visnjic, best known for his role of Dr. Luka Kovač in ER, has been added to the cast for Vikings: Valhalla season 3. He will be playing the role of Erik the Red, father of Leif and Freydís, who is living in exile for crimes he committed in Iceland and Norway. Visnjic has signed on for a major multi-year arc, and looks to be one of the show's new main characters in season 3.
Though Valhalla still falls short on viewership in comparison to the original Vikings series, the spinoff has proved very popular. With largely positive reviews for Valhalla's straightforward, character-driven storytelling, the show earned a two-season renewal quickly
