A new Valve promotional image appears to suggest the PC version of The Last of Us Part I will be Steam Deck verified.
As spotted by PCGamesN, a new lead image on the official Steam Deck website shows a montage of games playing on the Deck, including Hades, No Man’s Sky and Stray.
The montage also briefly shows an iconic scene from The Last of Us Part I in which Ellie interacts with a giraffe.
This implies the game will be officially Steam Deck verified when it releases tomorrow.
Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann stated back in December that the game would be playable on the device, claiming on Twitter: “Ellie and Joel will grace the Steam Deck, don’t worry.”
Now that Valve is using the game in its own promotional material to help sell Steam Deck systems, it appears all but certain that the game will be playable on the handheld from day one.
The PC port of The Last of Us Part 1 will include numerous other settings designed for PC players to get the most out of the game.
These include support for 21:9 Ultrawide and 32:9 Super Ultrawide aspect ratios, though naturally this won’t be relevant on Steam Deck.
It will also support the DualSense controller (via a wired connection) so that players can make use of the same haptic feedback and dynamic trigger functionality featured in the PS5 version.
PC owners looking to get the most out of the game will require top-tier specs, as Naughty Dog has confirmed that the game will need 32GB of RAM to run some of its higher settings.
Last month,Sony delayed the PC release of The Last of Us Part 1 from March 3 to March 28.
“These additional few weeks will allow us to ensure this version of The Last of Us lives up to your, and our, standards,” Naughty Dog explained at the time.
