According to designer Greg Coomer, Valve currently has multiple exciting new games in development. The beloved developer made a name for itself with massive hits like Half-Life and Portal, but in recent years the studio has largely ceased production of new games. Despite the February 25 release of Valve's Steam Deck portable PC, many fans are more interested in a new game instead.
Now a gaming industry juggernaut, Valve made a name for itself by creating beloved first-person shooters and puzzle games. The classic 1998 shooter Half-Life was acclaimed for its realistic gameplay and immersive narrative, and 2004's Half-Life 2 foundeven greater success by improving every aspect of its predecessor. Portal and Portal 2 were massively successful physics-based puzzle games, but over the years Valve gradually stopped focusing on these immersive first-person experiences. 2020's Half-Life: Alyx served as a long-awaited return to the company's first franchise, however, and the recent launch of the Steam Deck included a free demo called Aperture Desk Jobwhich takes players back to the world of Portal.

In an interview with Axios, Valve designer Greg Coomer revealed that the company currently has multiple games in development. While the developer had no major game to release alongside the Steam Deck, apparently there are exciting projects in the works for the future. Coomer remains vague, however, offering no details about the games or when fans might learn more about them. Valve rarely releases new games, unfortunately, so it is impossible to guess when these projects may come to light.
