The announcement was made on September 22, exactly one week before the game was originally supposed to release. A new date has been announced, and it's a bit further away than some may have been expecting, so fans will have to wait longer for this port of the PSP remaster of the original Valkyrie Profile game.
Game delays are pretty common nowadays, with developers usually citing the need for more time for polish and to improve the overall experience. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will now join a lot of other games hit with a delay this year, such as Evil West which was delayed from September to November this year. What might make this delay particularly frustrating for many, is that Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth was supposed to release next week, and the digital deluxe edition of Valkyrie Elysium, which is still releasing on September 29, contains a code to claim a digital copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth.
Valkyrie Elysium Reveals Three New Characters
The delay was confirmed by the official Valkyrie Elysium Twitter account on September 22. The reason for the delay has been cited as needing more time to improve the quality of the product. The new release date will be December 22, 2022. It was also confirmed by the developers that anyone that pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition of Valkyrie Elysium on the PlayStation Store will still receive a download code for a copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on December 22. The game will also be available for purchase separately from Valkyrie Elysium.
