One of the most popular content creators on YouTube, Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter has re-upped her contract with the company for a few more years. The new contract with YouTube means that the video game streamer is going to be with the company for at least four years and will stick around through 2024.
Having gotten her start on Twitch, Valkyrae was among some of that platform's most popular creators who eventually left Twitch to move to YouTube in 2020. Since Hofstetter landed on the site it appears she's been mostly happy with her decision as she signed a brand-new contract with the company just as January was set to wrap up.

The new deal definitely answers questions from some in the community as to whether the streamer would be staying with YouTube for the foreseeable future. Back in December, Valkyrae went out of her way to make it clear exactly how much time was left on her contract and some took that to mean she was counting down the hours until she was free to move on. However, the streamer confirmed on January 31 that she would be sticking around until January 2024.
According to Dexerto, It appears that Hofstetter's new contract is similar to her first with the Google-owned streaming giant, which means she'll have to stream a certain number of hours per year and that those hours will have to officially qualify for YouTube's gaming category. Speaking on her new deal she expressed optimism for the future. «The streaming side has a lot of room to grow,» she said. «They’re working on it. I’m happy here. Seeing how hungry they are is exciting.»
