Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg look like classic video game action heroes in new movie posters for Uncharted. The original Uncharted video game came out in 2007 on the Playstation console and has since expanded into an entire sprawling series.
That series of course revolves around adventurer Nathan Drake and his exploits traveling the world unlocking various historical mysteries. Now Drake’s adventures will make their way to the big screen, with Holland taking on the main role and Wahlberg playing his mentor Sully. Holland’s casting was of course controversial among fans of the original Uncharted games as he’s considered too young to play the relatively mature Drake (indeed fans advocated for Nathan Fillion to get the role, and Fillion even starred as Drake in a 2018 fan film). However, Sony elected to make Uncharted as a prequel to Drake’s video game adventures, which presumably justifies their decision to go with Holland as the lead.

The youthful Holland and more experienced Wahlberg’s Uncharted is now finally getting close to release and Sony has put out a pair of new posters to continue spreading the word. The posters are indeed classic action-hero stuff and in fact resemble nothing so much as video game covers (in a nod to the movie’s gaming origins). See the images in the space below:
In addition to featuring the stars of Uncharted, the new posters also tease one of its biggest action set-pieces, which involves a fight on a “flying” pirate ship (as was also teased in a recent Uncharted movie trailer).
