Trivial Pursuit is a Canadian board game that has been around for quite some time. It was first released in 1981 and was the brainchild of Canadian photo editor Chris Haney and sports editor Scott Abbott. After discovering that pieces of their Scrabble game were missing, they decided to create their own game. It wasn't until 2008 that Hasbro bought the full rights to the game.
