Krome Studios has confirmed that Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4 will be making a grand return on the Nintendo Switch. Fans of the boomerang-throwing marsupial mascot have been treated well in recent years with remasters of earlier Ty games, and soon they’ll be able to add the fourth mainline title to that list with a spruced-up re-release titled Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4: Bush Rescue Returns.
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4 stands out within the series for a few key reasons. Released in 2015, ten whole years after Ty 3, it ditched the 3D gameplay the series was known for in favor of side-scrolling 2D gameplay more akin to the Game Boy Advance versions of earlier games. What’s more, the original game was PC-exclusive, marking the first entry not to be released for consoles, but that will soon change with the upcoming remaster.
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2 Remaster Kickstarter Already Funded
According to Krome’s announcement, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4: Bush Rescue Returns will let players run, jump, and boomerang their way across 40 levels set throughout the series’ fantastical Australian Outback. In the process, they’ll be able to unlock 11 different types of boomerangs and collect over 20 unique skins for both Ty and his friends in the Bush Rescue team. There will be multiple modes to choose from as well, like Adventure, Time Attack, Turkey Chase, and Danger Arena.
Additionally, Bush Rescue Returns will bring a number of new features to the base game, including English voiceovers, remastered cutscenes, a mix of remastered audio tracks and brand-new ones, and in-game text options for English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese.
