Twitch Streamer Breaks Monitor While Playing Nintendo Switch Sports
The mid-2000s saw Nintendo dominate the gaming landscape with the one-two punch of the Nintendo Wii and Wii Sports, though the early days saw many a TV broken by thrown Wii-motes. Nintendo is revisiting part of this success with the release of Nintendo Switch Sports, bringing the simple but fun game up to modern consoles for Switch owners to enjoy. However, a streamer got to experience a very costly flashback to those early Wii Sports days when they accidentally threw their Switch remote into their monitor on stream.
Nintendo Switch Sports is the latest iteration of Nintendo's Sports series of games and the first since 2013's Wii Sports Club on the Wii U. The game brings back tennis, bowling, and swordplay from the previous games and introduces soccer, vollyball, and badminton as new options to enjoy, with soccer implementing the leg strap from Ring Fit Adventure. Nintendo said golf will be added to the game in a free update later in 2022, but has not given a specific date as of this writing.
Nintendo Switch Sports Update Adds Online Play
The clip making the rounds on social media features Twitch streamer 63man as he is playing a round of doubles tennis on stream. Following his serve, 63man loses grip of one of his Switch's Joy-Cons while going to hit the ball and hits something on his desk. He then turns the camera around to reveal a massive how badly he had broken one of his monitors, effectively breaking nearly a third of his screen.
