Twilightstar Ashley Greene believes the vampire franchise is perfect for a television series, should the powers that be ever want to make one. Stephenie Meyer's YA book series has been a pop culture mainstay since the early 2000s, and its availability on streaming has kept the passion alive among fans. The TwilightSaga tracks the star-crossed love story between human teenager Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and immortal vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). Meyer's four books were turned into 5 movies that grossed a combined $3.3 billion worldwide.
These days, Hollywood loves building upon its most beloved properties, leading to endless sequels, spinoffs, and prequels. With everything from Star Warsto Harry Potterseeing their universes expanded, it's almost surprising that Twilighthasn't gotten the same treatment. In 2020, Meyer released another book in the series, MidnightSun; it was the long-awaited retelling of the first novel from Edward's perspective. At the same time, Meyer confirmed she had additional Twilight novels in the works, hinting at a major revival of the entire franchise. However, there aren't any new movies in development, and those books have yet to come to fruition.

If fans are surprised the live-action Twilight series hasn't gotten some new content, they aren't alone. Franchise star Ashley Greene, who played delightful oddball Alice Cullen in all 5 movies, recently spoke to ET and shared her thoughts on whether Twilight could get new life onscreen. Greene admitted she's rather surprised it hasn't happened just yet and said she believes it could make a great television show, explaining:
