Ted Lasso season 3 will reveal more characters' origin stories, according to co-creator, writer, and star Brendan Hunt. The Emmy Award-winning actor Jason Sudeikis leads the cast of Apple TV+'s hit series as the perpetually positive football coach, Ted Lasso, which also includes Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple, and Toheeb Jimoh. The series, which is based on several promos Sudeikis did for NBC Sports, follows the titular coach and his team of eccentric soccer players.
Soon after its premiere in 2020, the comedy series quickly caught on with audiences for its feel-good quality, though it later began to tackle some more serious topics such as Ted's divorce, his childhood trauma, and the effect they have on his mental health. Since season 2 ended on an intriguing cliffhanger, fans have eagerly been awaiting details about Ted Lasso season 3, which is currently filming but does not yet have a premiere date. Previously, Hunt teased a time jump for season 3 so it can coincide with the start of the Premier League's football season in August.

Now, the Ted Lasso multi-hyphenate has shared another tease for what fans can expect from season 3. Hunt, who plays Coach Beard on the series, says that season 3 will reveal more characters' origin stories, "I think we might see more of people’s origin stories in season three," he said. Hunt's comments were made at an SXSW panel attended by Deadline.
