Jeffrey Dean Morgan has teased fans about the recently announced Walking Dead spinoff series Isle Of The Dead starring fan-favorite characters Negan and Maggie. Morgan joined The Walking Dead with a bang when he was introduced at the tail-end of The Walking Dead season 6 as the vicious and domineering leader of the Saviors. With his iconic outfit and prized bat Lucille, his brutal but enigmatic persona sparked life into the zombie apocalypse series which debuted back in 2010. Lauren Cohan’s Maggie, a staple of the series since The Walking Dead season 2, became obsessed with taking Negan down following the horrific demise of her husband Glenn at Negan's hand.
Many years and dozens of episodes later, the former arch-enemies have recently been announced as the unlikely duo leading The Walking Dead’s latest spinoff venture. Following the gradual success of the LA-based Fear the Walking Dead and the less-beloved World Beyond, Isle of the Dead will see Negan and Maggie head into the yet-unseen world of post-apocalyptic New York. With the plot very much under wraps, the star characters (who have recently made an uneasy alliance on the main show) will find themselves closer than ever as they embark on their own mission.

Now, reacting to the news of the new show in an Instagram post, Morgan has teased fans with what to expect from the surprise series. The actor says Isle of the Dead is “gonna turn what you think you know… on its a**.” Calling the new show a “bold new vision” of the Walking Dead universe, he further confirms that the series will debut in 2023.
