Universal Pictures has announced that a first look at Jordan Peele's Nope--likely a trailer--will air this Sunday, which also happens to be the same day as the NFL Super Bowl, so it will most likely air then. Not much is known about the film, but it is expected to be in theaters on July 22.
In a new video titled simply «From Jordan Peele,» a 30-second clip showcases memorable and haunting blink-and-you'll-miss-them moments from the director's previous acclaimed horror films Get Out and Us--and intersperses a few moments from the upcoming third film. No plot details have been revealed for Nope, but a poster released a year ago on July 22 depicted a mysterious cloud hovering over a small town, with what looks like a line of flags hanging out of it. Check out the clip below.
Nope will star Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead), Keke Palmer (Big Mouth), and Daniel Kaluuya (Black Panther). None of the actors have shared a single detail about the film, so we'll all have to keep speculating until Sunday offers more details.
Peele has also co-written and produced the sequel/reboot to the '90s classic Candyman, which was released in August 2021. The movie is directed by Nia DaCosta and was delayed from the original date of September 2020.
