Another mainstay of FromSoftware titles is, of course, relentlessly difficult boss encounters, and in Elden Ring the difficulty may be as strong as ever. With some players being scared into grinding as high as level 93 to fight Elden Ring's Margit boss, it is clear that the game's boss encounters are a big challenge.

Because of this challenge, players tend to become frantic when they see an opportunity to gain an advantage over a boss. This can lead to unfortunate and silly mistakes by players, such as one player who was fooled by an Elden Ring boss, causing them to perish. A similar situation happened recently, as a clip captured the moment a player became so fixated on a potential critical attack that they fell to their death during a boss fight.
The poor player in question was Reddit user Isaac_Serdwick, who captured the moment they made a wrong move against one of the game's dragon bosses. In the clip, Isaac_Serdwick manages to put the dragon in a downed state, allowing for an opportunistic critical attack. Much like how an Elden Ring backstab works, a critical attack on a downed enemy causes an animation and massive damage to occur, offering players a huge advantage in a fight. When Isaac_Serdwick saw this chance, they rode to the dragon's head as fast as they could, only to jump off of Torrent straight to their death off the side of a bridge.
