Tony Danza gives an update on the Who's The Boss sequel show. Created by Martin Cohan and Blake Hunter, Who's The Boss ran for eight seasons on ABC. Starring Danza and Judith Light, Who's The Boss centers on the dynamic between former baseball player Tony Michelli (Danza) and divorced executive Angela Bower (Light) after Tony becomes Angela's live-in housekeeper and moves into the Bower household with his daughter Samantha (Alyssa Milano). Considered one of the most popular sitcoms of the '80s, Who's The Boss signed off in 1992.
Earlier this year, Milano teased that a Who's The Boss sequel series has been in development for some time. Now, the star of Who's The Boss offers an update on the show. Per ET Canada, Danza reveals that a Who's The Boss sequel series is in the works and said, «We're waiting for the writers.» Danza confirmed the show is not a reboot series and would feature Light in a "small part" but mainly focus on the characters of Tony and Samantha.

In an era of reboots and revivals, it's no surprise that one of television's highest-rated sitcoms is being workshopped into a sequel series. It remains to be seen if original cast member Danny Pintauro will reprise his role as Jonathan Bower. Sadly, Katherine Helmond, who played fan-favorite Mona Robinson, passed away in 2019. According to Danza and Milano's previous comments, the new installment of Who's The Boss will center on the father-daughter dynamic between Samantha and Tony as Samantha tackles single-parenthood. The Who's The Boss sequel series could make more headway very soon.
