Tomb Raider 1-3 Might Be Teasing Another Remastered Trilogy
thegamer.comIn the newly released Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, you can find a transparent monitor with a radar signal highlighting several green dots next to a spiralling wave. At first glance, it just looks like part of the set dressing, but it's laden with easter eggs.
The top left and right both have a string of numbers. One fan, @danthedan20, decided to look at them more closely, finding that, in the left corner, they read, "02142024". That might look familiar, since it's the release date for the remastered trilogy - February 14, 2024, or 02/14/2024 if you're American.
On the bottom right, they make up coordinates for Giza, Egypt, AKA the setting of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. These coordinates are also placed beside the word "Next", so it's clearly not just an easter egg - it looks like Aspyr is teasing another remaster.
To boot, the monitor's circle radar with the five dots is laid out very similarly to the planetarium in The Lost Library, which also has five movable globes that are even positioned in similar places to the green dots. When combined with the coordinates and release date, it's evidently not a coincidence.
You can also find a spiral that looks exactly like the one on the monitor in Cleopatra's Palaces above the Lara statue. It's clear this is a big hint to Aspyr's future plans. Whether those plans come to fruition is another matter, as anything could change behind-the-scenes.
No follow-up remasters have been announced, so this in-game tease may bear fruit or it could amount to nothing. We'll have to wait for official word.
While it's clearly hinting at Tomb Raider 4, fans don't think it'll stop there. A major assumption being made is that 4 will be the first part in another trilogy of remasters, made up of The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and Angel of Darkness.
