In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #5 by IDW Publishing, the Last Ronin takes on Oroku Hiroto as the new Shredder and the final Turtle engage in a bloody battle that's more than a decade-and-a-half in the making for Michelangelo. It turns out to be a heartbreaking affair that ends with multiple deaths and a new direction forged for those who survive.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin is a five-issue miniseries that takes readers to a dystopian future where Michelangelo is the sole survivor among the original Turtles. After being suicidal and wanting to end his own life in a world without his family, Michelangelo became the Last Ronin to get revenge on those who took them away — namely, Oroku Hiroto, the son of Karai, the former leader of the Foot Clan. After working alongside Casey Jones Jr. and April O'Neil, Michelangelo's final stand begins.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #5 by Kevin Eastman, Tom Waltz, Ben Bishop, Peter Laird, Esau Escorza, Isaac Ecorza, and Luis Antonio Delgado, tensions rise as Oroku Hiroto suits up in his own Shredder armor as he continues his quest to kill the Last Ronin.
