Warning: SPOILERS lie ahead for The Lost City
Co-writers/directors Adam and Aaron Nee open up about The Lost City's mid-credits twist scene and how they kept it a secret. The Nee Brothers first rose to stardom in the independent film scene with their 2006 South by Southwest hit The Last Romantic and their modern retelling of Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn novels, Band of Robbers. Prior to joining The Lost City, the duo were set to helm the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie reboot at Sony, though frequent developmental delays saw them tackle the adventure rom-com first before moving on to the now-Netflix title.
Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum star in The Lost City as novelist Loretta Sage and her cover model Alan Caprison as they find themselves on a jungle-faring adventure when Loretta is kidnapped by Daniel Radcliffe's eccentric billionaire Abigail Fairfax. Alongside Bullock, Tatum and Radcliffe, the cast for the film included Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Patti Harrison, Oscar Nunez and Brad Pitt. The Lost City has received largely positive reviews from critics and audiences alike and now the creatives behind the film are offering some insight into one of its biggest secrets.
