A creative Pokémon fan is building and selling Poké Ball-themed terrariums online, complete with miniature Pokémon. This brings a new interpretation to just what exactly is inside a Poké Ball, a matter of fan debate for as long as Pokémon has been around. It certainly fits with the idea that Pokémon are shrunk to fit inside, or that the Pokémon shrink themselves as Pokémon Legends: Arceus asserts. And what better scenery to enjoy in-between battles than a beautiful garden?
A terrarium is a miniature garden in a bottle or similar container, which is able to function as a fully self-contained ecosystem. This is possible thanks to the plants and soil inside releasing water vapor, which then collects on the interior walls and trickles down to water the soil again. Terrariums make for amazing decorative pieces and have in fact been the basis for other creative fan projects in the past. For example, a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fan made a terrarium-themed art piece for their partner, so that they could present them with a Silent Princess flower for Valentine's Day.

The terrariums being made and shared on Reddit by TheLodgeRemembers are sculptures built into large Poké Ball cases with transparent tops. Through the clear plastic, it is easy to see that the interiors are personalized to the individual Pokémon that resides within each one. One terrarium features a Mega Charizard Y, perched proudly on a scorched patch of ground. Another places a Snorlax in the middle of a wooden bridge, an all-too-familiar obstacle for a traveling trainer.
