Throne and Liberty’s Globalization Design Manager, Tico, shared a letter on the highlights of 2024, the game's release, updates since launch, as well as a bit of what is ahead in 2025.
Amazon and NCSoft released Throne and Liberty just a couple of months ago, but this process followed A series of playtests, and a lot of community feedback on everything from gameplay, to monetization, and including lessons that people saw when the Korean version originally launched.
Some of the highlights covered include the launch, and a pretty natural choice in the start of castle sieges. Castle sieges are one of the key features in Throne and Liberty, along with animal transformations, the use of verticality, and more. When a siege is set, these factors all come together as well in the name of strategy. There are many things that have to come together to make these processes work.

This month was a particularly busy one, with the introduction of the spear on the 5th, Dimensional Tral dungeons, expanded fishing, and the new Rune progression system. War Games are also new and getting use the feature allows guilds to set up custom encounters, including practice sessions. With the spear also came the first new stat, Fortitude, and some rebalances with the addition. Finally, the first winter event, Startree Solstice, made Solisium festive.
So what’s ahead in 2025? The team will tackle dailies feeling more like a chore than something enjoyable. Combat is going to be another major focus. They're looking to make combat feel fluid and more connected and natural. They're also looking to improve targeting systems and overall movement.
