Video game publisher THQ Nordic announced today that it will hold its second Digital Showcase on August 12 this year. The publisher is promising new game announcements and updates on games it has previously revealed. On the , it mentions that the showcase will expand “the company’s portfolio into new genres with both licensed and original gaming experiences.” THQ Nordic promises that it will hint at potential reveals closer to the showcase and that fans can expect “everything from intense, dark and gritty to light, colorful and just plain fun.”
The publisher has said to look forward to updates on Outcast 2 – A New Beginning and Jagged Alliance 3. The video game developer and publisher HandyGames will also present during the pre-show before the event. Although, we do not have any further details on this yet.
The trailer for the showcase briefly shows some of the publisher’s past games, such as Biomutant, and games that we are still waiting to hear more about, like SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake. With all the franchises that THQ Nordic has acquired the rights to over the last few years, we can hope that it’ll have a lot of exciting announcements come August 12.
THQ Nordic’s announcement of this showcase is likely to be the first of many similar announcements over the coming months. The digital E3 2022 event was recently canceled and the ESA stated that it will “return in 2023 with a reinvigorated showcase.” In the wake of that announcement,Geoff Keighley confirmed that Summer Game Fest will return in June with multiple events planned.
