THQ Nordic has announced that it will hold its second annual digital showcase event on August 12, 2022.
The company plans to present “several, brand new games, expanding the company’s portfolio into new genres with both licensed and original gaming experiences.”
The show will also feature updates about THQ Nordic games currently in development such as Outcast 2 – A New Beginning and Jagged Alliance 3.
The show will begin 12.00 AM PDT / 3 PM EDT / 8 PM BST / 21:00 CEST / 10 PM EST. Developer HandyGames “will show what they got” on a preshow, according to a press release.
This is the latest in what is likely to be a series of announcements about publisher-specific showcases following the cancellation of E3’s digital event.
Last week it was confirmed that a digital E3 event would no longer be taking place, with the ESA issuing a statement on the cancellation.
“We will devote all our energy and resources to delivering a revitalized physical and digital E3 experience next summer,” it said. “Whether enjoyed from the show floor or your favourite devices, the 2023 showcase will bring the community, media, and industry back together in an all-new format and interactive experience.”
Microsoft is likely to hold its showcase in June, according to a journalist.
That’s according to GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, who claimed in a video show that Microsoft is currently talking to publishers about a June event. This matches what VGC has heard from our own sources.
Geoff Keighly has also confirmed that is Summer Games Fest will return, however, which companies will include and the dates of the show have yet to be formally announced.
