Critics are calling the film everything from unique to frantic and exhausting, while also highlighting the added horror elements that director Sam Raimi has brought to the project. Benedict Cumberbatch returns to lead the cast of the Doctor Strange sequel as the titular neurosurgeon-turned-sorcerer alongside Elizabeth Olsen as fellow magic-user Scarlet Witch, who returns to continue her story arc from WandaVison. Other familiar faces returning from the first film include Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Benedict Wong, while Xochitl Gomez makes her MCU debut as America Chavez. Other than this core cast and the multiple variants they will play, Doctor Strange 2 trailers have revealed several more exciting variants that will be appearing.
