Warning! Spoilers ahead for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Michael Waldron talks about John Krasinski's Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Loki scribe teamed up with director Sam Raimi for the latest Marvel Studios film that continues Stephen Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) arc in the MCU. But aside from the sorcerer's story, the film's multiversal story also allows Waldron and Raimi to introduce the Illuminati team on the big screen.
Per the Marvel Comics, the Illuminati is a secret group of superheroes tasked to make difficult decisions. The print roster is composed of Iron Man, Black Panther, Black Bolt, Namor, Professor X, Mister Fantastic, and Doctor Strange — each one represents a section of the universe. Marvel Studios changes things up a bit with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' Earth-838 Illuminati featuring Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Maria Rambeau's (Lashana Lynch) Captain Marvel, alongside Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Krasinki's Reed Richards. The last one effectively gives fans their long-demanded casting pick for the Fantastic Four leader.
