Being a precursor to Breaking Bad, AMC spinoff Better Call Saul shares many characters with its progenitor, including several that have already appeared in season 6. WhileBetter Call Saul's story is mostly focused on its title character, shady lawyer Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), one of the great joys of the show for audiences has been getting to reconnect with some of Breaking Bad's best characters. That's especially true for those characters who didn't make it out of Breaking Bad's finale alive.
For example, viewers have gotten to learn more about the past history of people like bodyguard/hitman Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) and drug kingpin Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), two characters who spent their time on Breaking Bad usually preferring to keep their feelings and thoughts to themselves. Now, fans have a better idea of what makes them tick, as well as why they ended up as emotionally hardened as they are by the time of Breaking Bad. This is the kind of character development a prequel should accomplish, and Better Call Saul season 6 has even more in store.
