This Week is Going to Be Huge for JRPG Fans
There are some major new video game releases scheduled for this week, with JRPG fans especially having reason to be excited. By the end of the week, two of the most highly-anticipated JRPGs of the year will be available for purchase worldwide, while gamers in Japan have a remaster check out as well, with the game potentially coming to other regions at some point down the line.
On July 28 in Japan, JRPG fans can check out GrimGrimoire OnceMore, a remaster of the popular Vanillaware PS2 game that originally released in 2007. GrimGrimoire's original release earned a great deal of praise for its visual style and story. It blends JRPG elements with real-time strategy gameplay, making for a truly unique gaming experience, to say the least. The GrimGrimoire OnceMore remaster is exclusive to Japan for now, but its release should still be exciting for JRPG fans elsewhere. Importing the game is an option, of course, but chances are it will come to other countries eventually for those who would rather wait.
Digimon Survive New Gameplay Trailer Shows Battles, Digivolving, and More
JRPG fans have even more reason to be excited later this week as July 29 will see the launch of Digimon Survive and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Fans have been waiting to play Digimon Survive for years, with the combo visual novel/tactical JRPG game hitting some development snags. It's now finally set to launch to the masses and while it's unclear if the game will live up to the hype, it's certainly one of the most exciting Digimon video game projects in years.
