A big part of Twitch’s appeal is that livestreaming feels far more intimate than other forms of web content. Of course, that invitation doesn’t mean people can or should show up in person and invite themselves into a Twitch streamer’s house. However, that’s more or less what happened to one streamer when she recorded someone stealing from her house during a livestream.

Earlier in the month, Portuguese variety streamer Karii briefly left her Twitch stream unattended while she went to unload some luggage from her car. About an hour and three minutes into her July 11 livestream, she leaves the camera just inside an open door with a view of her dog. However, about half a minute after she’s out of sight, a man’s legs appear from somewhere out of view. He stops at the doorway and seems to be looking around a few seconds before entering Karii’s house. Viewers can then hear him moving around inside before reappearing and running away.
Her Twitch chat naturally freaked out about the trespasser’s arrival. However, after some initial concern and confusion, Karii brushes it off, believing that her audience was trolling her.
