MultiVersus is setting itself apart from other platform fighters, focusing on 2v2 gameplay with many balance changes made with this game mode. MultiVersus is fully designed with friends in mind, which may have inspired the developers to introduce a unique Battle Pass sharing feature. Possibly, anyway. As reported by VGC, a dataminer looking deep into the code for secrets may have uncovered a feature that will allow two players to contribute to one Battle Pass.
Dataminer AisulMV posted an image on Twitter of something called a “Battle Pass invite.” If legit, the new feature will allow you to “conquer the Battle Pass faster” and “share the rewards.” This program will allow both players to contribute to the same Battle Pass, with the Battle Pass of the player with the least progress matching the others. Players share progress on the Premium Battle Pass, which includes both Quest Rewards and experience points.
The post suggests that only one Battle Pass can be shared once per season. It makes sense, as it disallows players from sharing their Battle Pass rewards en masse. This datamined post does not confirm this feature coming to the game at all, however. There’s been no indication from the developer that it’s in the works as of now. Tony Huynh, the MultiVersus game director, shared that the Season One Battle Pass will cost $10 and have 50 tiers.
If this feature does arrive for Season One, we won’t see it for a while. Season One of MultiVersus is unfortunately delayed for now, halting the release of the character Morty from Rick and Morty, which was originally set for August 9. Rick was planned to release following Morty, but now the release dates for both are unfortunately floating in the void.
