When CD Projekt Red dives back into The Witcher universe with more games, the developer should consider making one with Gaunter O'Dimm as the protagonist. The antagonist for the The Witcher 3's first expansion, Hearts of Stone, O'Dimm immediately captured the attention of players thanks to the aura of mystery surrounding him. That, coupled with a haunting performance by voice actor Alex Norton, made for a character rivaled only by Geralt in terms of popularity. As the leading man in his own game, O'Dimm could shine even more.
Players first meet O'Dimm at the very beginning of the base game in a strange but seemingly insignificant exchange. Geralt is looking for Yennefer — a romanceable character in Witcher 3 along with Triss — and his search leads him to a tavern in White Orchard. There, he approaches a man and asks if he's seen her, describing her physical appearance. To Geralt's surprise, the man knows her full name. He introduces himself as Gaunter O'Dimm, a mangy vagrant who was once a merchant of mirrors. O'Dimm says he knows her through the ballads of Dandelion, another one of Geralt's friends. After telling Geralt her last whereabouts, O'Dimm leaves the inn and tells Geralt that perhaps one day, the roles will be reversed and it will be Geralt helping him.

O'Dimm does not appear again until the beginning of Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone, when he seemingly appears from nowhere aboard a ship carrying Geralt to be hanged. He rescues the witcher, and the two enter a pact that drives the main story of the expansion. What makes O'Dimm so captivating is his omnipresence throughout the expansion and scope of his power that amplifies with each scene.
