The Umbrella Academy’s afterlife color and girl explained. Klaus Hargreeves has been to the afterlife a few times now, with The Umbrella Academy season 3 revealing that his powers allow him to control the afterlife and return from it should he die. Klaus unlocking these aspects of his powers is crucial, but the afterlife — and the mysterious girl who seems to live there — remain somewhat mysterious.
Klaus has struggled with his powers for a long time. He tried to become comfortable speaking to the dead, including his brother Ben, who died years prior but appears to Klaus as a ghost. Klaus is mostly traumatized by his abilities and the ghosts who haunt him because of Reginald Hargreeves’ treatment of him, leaving Klaus inside a crypt overnight. In The Umbrella Academy season 2, Klaus died and met up with Reginald in the afterlife. However, he was swiftly returned to the world of the living, but not before he met up with a girl riding a bicycle with a basket full of flowers. Klaus crosses paths with the girl once again in The Umbrella Academy season 3 after accidentally being killed by Stanley while in the Hotel Obsidian’s White Buffalo room.

The girl in the afterlife is essentially Klaus’ creator (seemingly a representation of God, or a similar omniscient being). The two have a conversation in The Umbrella Academy season 2, with the girl revealing she doesn’t like Klaus. What’s more, the girl is the creator of the afterlife.
