The Sims 4 team has announced a comprehensive patch that will be released for the game in the coming days, addressing many issues that have arisen with the recent base-game updates, including Sims and animals randomly achieving fame. While most player attention has recently been on the newly released Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack, a huge base game update was recently introduced for the game as well. Unfortunately, as often happens with large patches to the title, the update has introduced several strange new issues.
The latest Sims 4 update added many long-requested features to the game, as well as a few surprises. The update includes new things for Build and Buy Mode, Create A Sim, and general gameplay. Body hair and sexual orientation options were added to CAS, curved walls were made an option for builders, and an aesthetic update for the in-game phone helped streamline its features. The biggest addition to the game was a complete replacement of the «Whims» system with the «Wants and Fears» system of The Sims 2, which had been a highly-desired feature for many fans since release. Unfortunately, bugs like Sims quickly aging, random people — and pets — gaining fame, and players receiving Wants to date family members have cropped up since the update's release.

The Sims 4 Twitter account shared an update on the bugs this week, promising fixes will be applied soon. The post explains the team's investigation into the issues, which began earlier in the week, has now been completed and players can expect a patch by the end of next week.
