The Quarry - How To Save Kaitlyn
2015's Until Dawntasked players with saving the lives of eight young adults on Blackwood Mountain when everything takes a turn for the terrifying. Supermassive's spiritual sequel The Quarry gives players a similar goal, though this time it's nine camp counselors at Hackett's Quarry who must be saved.
The cast of The Quarry is arguably the game's greatest strength. Each of the nine counselors, to say nothing of the excellent side characters and antagonists, have engaging personalities and backstories, making the player want to fight to save them. Mischievous and headstrong Kaitlyn is the favorite of many, so learning how to save her life is a priority.
The Quarry: How Long To Beat & How Many Chapters
The first significant decisionthat must be made in The Quarry to save Kaitlyn's life doesn't even occur when the player is controlling her. Instead, it takes place during Chapter 1 when the player is in control of Abigail. Before joining the rest of the counselors and getting ready to leave, Abigail speaks with Emma outside a cabin.
What Is The Monster In The Quarry?
The player is offered the choice of whether to break the lock on the cabin door. It's important that the player does so, because inside the cabin is a stuffed rabbit that Abigail must pick up. The rabbit plays a crucial role in keeping Kaitlyn alive later in the story.
Later, Kaitlyn and Dylan go to the scrapyard in search of a working car. There, the player controls Dylan as he operates the crane. Something triggers the motion-detecting lights: the werewolf. It's important to succeed in the Quick-Time Events during this sequence. Otherwise, Kaitlyn will be bitten by the creature.
