The Quarry is host to multiple characters stuck at a summer camp overnight with a monstrous menace lurking close by. Since there are multiple complex story paths overlapping based on player choice, keeping certain characters alive in The Quarry can be tougher than first expected.
Dylan is one of the nine camp counselors trying to survive the night, but lots of hazardous situations can result in dismemberment or death for the charming character. As such, players should use this guide to keep track of Dylan's risky moments and try to get The Quarry's best ending.
Bad Decisions That Can Cost You The Best Ending
Dylan's charm manages to keep him safe from any immediate danger due to being cautious, but his first potential moment of jeopardy can be triggered by someone else's decision from Chapter 1. In order to reduce the risk of Dylan being attacked by the unmentionable horrors lurking in The Quarry, it is recommended for Abigail and Emma not to break into the lodge.
Since this is Abigail's first big choice, breaking into the hut and getting things seems like a good decision. However, this literally comes back to bite Dylan in Chapter 5 when he and Ryan are hiding out in the radio hut. Since the lodge has a broken door, the other counselors can sneak in and hide without issue, which causes the monsters to focus on the hut instead.
It is still possible to save Dylan if the monster bites his hand by using Ryan to amputate it before the infection spreads. This is best done by choosing the CONFIDENT dialogue option and then the CHAINSAW to successfully cut Dylan's arm off.
Assuming Dylan and Ryan manage to fend off the creature with the feedback loop, Dylan is saved for now and won't risk turning into a monster.
