Moderators have been forced to ban all foot pictures on the Pokemon TCG subreddit, following a wave of… interesting photos flooding the community.
The spate of feet pics began with a now-deleted post in which someone shared a photo of a miscut card with their feet suspiciously in the background. The response to the post was one of confusion and light ribbing before other users hopped on the trend and started posting their own.

Flash forward a few days later, and moderators have had to step in and put a blanket ban on any and all feet pics posted to the subreddit. In the post announcing the ban, moderator Devperez said that "it's just a little too far past the line for a Pokemon TCG community", and that anyone intentionally posting feet will be banned. While many of the most egregious photos (which some at TheGamer have described as "flaky" and "proper gross") have since been removed, there are still a few posts up.
The decision to ban feet pics has split the community. While there are those who were disgusted by the photos, and many posts begging for them to stop when the trend was at its height, others have mocked the decision. There have been lots of oblique references to the ban, such as users suggesting new subreddits exclusively for Pokemon-themed feet pics.
Of course, there were also those who took the opportunity to criticise the subreddit's moderation team. Some argued that the whole point of Reddit's upvoting and downvoting tools is to highlight what the community wants to see, and that banning something that was popular goes against that ethos.
