We don't talk about the Oscars 2022 version of Encanto's «We Don't Talk About Bruno.» Since Salsa-ing onto theater screens in November 2021, Encanto has enraptured audiences young and old, the magical story of the Madrigal family earning its place among the storied legends of Disney's animated pantheon. Making a significant contribution to Encanto's charm is its awesome soundtrack, and though packed with great tunes, «We Don't Talk About Bruno» is the one now carved into parents' brains. Penned by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Latin and hip-hop influences proved a winning combination, as Mirabel's family found the catchiest way possible to explain why they all hated Bruno.
Somewhat ironically given the song's subject, Disney submitted «Dos Oruguitas» for Oscar nomination, not realizing «We Don't Talk About Bruno» would become Encanto's runaway success story. As acknowledgement of the tune's cultural importance, the Oscars 2022 ceremony instead featured a «We Don't Talk About Bruno» performance incorporating Encanto's original cast members.
