The Last of Us Remake Release Date, Trailer, & Screen Shots Leak
It has been an open secret that Naughty Dog had been developing a remake of the first , as the story first broke in a Bloomberg report from April 2021. But now that report has gotten more real with a set of pretty damning leaks. Dubbed, this remake is slated to come to PlayStation 5 on September 2, 2022. A PC version will come at a later date.
As pointed out by notorious Twitter deals person Wario64, the game appeared online on PlayStation Direct, Sony’s official storefront. The game will have two editions: a standard $69.99 one and a special $99.99. However, the listings are currently down, so it’s not clear what the second version has. However, both will come with the first game and, it’s expansion that focused on Ellie.
The game boasts improved visuals, character models, and lighting, which can all be found in its trailer. The description also teases more changes in the gameplay department, as well as more accessibility options. Essentially, it seems to have brought over many changes from the second game.
“Enjoy a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feel immersed with improved effects and enhanced exploration and combat,” reads the official description.
Sony has yet to formally announce the remake, but it’s possible that it will be revealed at Summer Game Fest Live, which is slated for June 9 at 11 a.m. PT. And even though other reports have pointed to its existence, it did seem as though something was imminent as a new leaker tweeted a vague date on June 8 and implied that was coming out on September 2.
