Danielle Panabaker reacts to her character Frost's shocking death in The Flash season 8 episode 13. The series originally premiered on The CW as a spinoff of the immensely popular Arrow in October 2014 and quickly became one of the most well-received Arrowverse shows, with praise going towards its writing and the performances of the cast. This success has spawned eight seasons, with The Flash season 9 confirmed to be greenlit by the network.
The Flash follows the titular speedster superhero during his early years, backed up by the various scientists at S.T.A.R. Labs as well as his love interest and future wife, Iris West. Some other members of Team Flash have included Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Caitlin Snow/Frost, Joe West, Chester P. Runk, and Allegra Garcia. Joining Panabaker within the show's talented cast includes the likes of Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Nicolet, Kayla Compton, Brandon McKnight, and Jesse L. Martin.

In an interview with TVLine, Panabaker reveals what she thought about the storyline leading to Frost's death when it was originally pitched to her by showrunner Eric Wallace. Specifically, the actor explains that she wanted the character's death to be real, in order to keep the emotional depth of such a heavy moment, rather than have her be resurrected immediately afterward.
