The CW has officially revealed its schedule for the 2022-2023 TV season, revealing which new and returning shows will arrive in the fall. Since 2006, The CW has been known for its programming that is heavily targeted toward a teenage and young adult demographic. Merged together by The WB and UPN roughly 16 years ago, the network is going through significant changes this year that has shaken up The CW's status quo. In previous years, The CW has given out renewals during late January and early February to most of its shows, including the Arrowverse franchise, Riverdale, Legacies, and more.
However, 2022 started with a game-changer, as it was revealed that WarnerMedia and Paramount, the co-owners of The CW, are looking to sell the network. At this point, it's unclear whether the two studios are eyeing a complete sale or will retain a minority stake. As a result of the sale, however, The CW's early renewals were briefly put on pause. Last month, several CW shows were finally renewed, but the network also handed out the largest amount of cancellations in its 16-year existence. Unfortunately, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Naomi, Legacies, Dynasty, Charmed, Roswell, New Mexico, In the Dark, and 4400 were all cut from the network's program.
