The Rémy family was one of the highlights of The Courtship, and leading lady Nicole posted a throwback photograph of the close-knit group. Nicole, a 26-year-old software engineer and former professional cheerleader for the Seattle Seahawks from Lakewood, Washington, traveled to England in order to find love by dating according to the customs of the Regency Era. She and her suitors traded modern dating for authentic 19th-century courtship. The suitors composed hand-written love letters, played cricket, fenced, and learned traditional dances. In the end, Nicole accepted Daniel Bochicchio's proposal, but they have since ended their engagement.
Throughout Nicole's journey on The Courtship, she had the guidance of her court which was made up of her mother, Dr. Claire Spain-Rémy, her father, Claude Rémy, her older sister, Danie Baker, her older brother, Dominique Rémy, and her best friend, Tessa Cleary. The Rémy family was the perfect support system for Nicole. They were protective of her without being intimidating, and advised her without being controlling. They truly cared for the suitors, treating them with warmth and kindness, and even became emotional when it was time to say goodbye to each of them. Their genuine love for Nicole was evident in every interaction. Unlike other reality shows that isolate the heroine from her family until the end of the season, The Courtship gave Nicole the gift of having her family by her side.
