Imagine PUBG, then introduce a horror element into the mix, put the creator of Dead Space on it, and then remove 99 percent of the PUBG stuff. That's The Callisto Protocol for you, Striking Distance Studios' action-horror game set in the PUBG universe. We've not heard much about the game ever since it was announced back in 2020 during The Game Awards. However, studio head Glen Schofield has said that we could soon get a full reveal of the game.
"Going through some of the concept art from our incredibly talented art team for [The Callisto Protocol] today," he tweeted. "It's almost time to show you the real thing. Can't wait." He also shared artwork of one of the creepy looking monsters from the upcoming title (thanks PCGamesN). While it isn't much to go on, it's the most information we've received about the game in a while. That's not all – The Game Awards creator and host Geoff Keighley alao left an emoji for the tweet. Maybe the reveal may happen at Keighleys showcase this year.

With regard to Callisto Protocol's connection with PUBG, it is hard to imagine how a dark survival horror title would be linked to the battle royale. "We're helping PUBG Corp right now as a team of writers, working on the lore for PUBG and its universe," explained Schofield in an interview. "They have a timeline, and we fit on that timeline now. It's not going to be really deep, but there will be little connections here and there. We'll probably be referencing one another from time to time… It will make more sense once the game comes out!"
