The official Twitter for The Boys reacts to a cosplay of superhero The Deep in a compromising position from season 3's «Herogasm» episode. Looks from The Boys are a popular choice among cosplayers due to the distinct and often strange costume designs of its characters. The dark comedy action series just concluded its action-packed season 3 on Prime Video, with The Boys season 4 already confirmed.
The Boys takes place in a world where «supes» are lionized by the world, allowing them to get away with disturbing acts in secret. «Herogasm» centers around an annual superhero orgy, with The Deep (Chace Crawford) using the opportunity to have sex with an octopus, having implied his sexual attraction to sea creatures throughout the series. This particular «Herogasm» scene proved controversial, with Prime Video asking The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke to take out the sequence. However, it made the cut when Kripke pointed out that it is actually impossible to have intercourse with an octopus in the way depicted in The Boys scene.

On The Boys offical Twitter account, the show reposted a picture of a cosplayer reenacting the controversial scene, with the performer having a life-sized octopus wrapped around his pelvis and torso. The performer recreates The Deep's signature costume on his top half with neutral-colored shorts around his pelvis to imply that he isn't wearing any pants. The Boys account's caption doesn't offer any explanation, simply saying they wish to bring it to their followers' attention:
