There's little question that in The Boys television series, The Deep is the biggest joke among The Seven, as the Supe is the team's most cowardly, pathetic member of the team. However, the Aquaman parody wasn't always that way, as the character the live-action version was based on was actually one of the few heroes in The Boys comic book universe who actually cared about making the world a better place — at least compared to the likes of Homelander, A-Train, and other members of The Seven.
In The Boys television series, The Deep, played by actor Chace Crawford, is one of the most repulsive, morally bankrupt Supes in a world chock-full of them. Between assaulting Starlight, getting kicked off The Seven, joining a literal cult, becoming a whipping boy to his controlling wife, having grotesque sex with sea life, and most recently, rejoining The Seven and being loyal to Homelander no matter the cost, The Deep barely functions without the assistance of others. He's by far the most embarrassing superhero and continually sinks lower the longer he appears on the show. However, in the comics, The Deep is quite the opposite.

While The Deep in The Boys television series is a sad sack of a superpowered being, in the comics, he actually tries being a hero despite The Seven working in their own self-interests and on behalf of Vought-Americans.
