A statue of a baby Jesus Christ in a museum in the United States has left the internet stumped as it looks exactly like Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The picture that has taken the internet by storm shows Mother Mary's sculpture holding baby Jesus in her arms that resembles Zuckerberg. Not only netizens, but the image has even got a comment from former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. He couldn't stop himself from sharing the picture on his Twitter account. He just captioned it, “Meta.” The picture was posted by a Twitter user from the LA Museum of Art with the caption- “This baby Jesus sculpture at the LA Museum of Art looks like Mark Zuckerberg.”
Netizens too seem to be surprised with this resemblance as they took to social media to react to the same. While some of the users even expressed their dislike, it has also kicked off a meme fest on Twitter for others.
A user wrote, "Sad to see this in the name of art. It is insulting to see something this holy made fun of. His privates are on display. Some limits are not to be broken, period! A naked baby online is a crime, but a sculpture of this important person's naked is ok"? Another user joked, “That's Jaysus of the metaverse! Should have been an NFT instead.” A third user tweeted, “Must have made a nice donation to the museum for those perks.”
According to reports, the Baby Jesus statue is made of polychrome wood which is a replica of Quito's Virgin of Mercy or Pilgrim of Quito. It was acquired by the LA Museum of Art earlier this year, and is displayed for the first time in "Archive of the World: Art and Imagination in Spanish America, 15001800.”
