While there have been some concerns aired about Harrison Ford’s age, Ford has already proven that he is not too old to reprise his iconic role in Indiana Jones 5. Initially scheduled for release in 2019, Indiana Jones 5 has endured multiple production setbacks, many of which arose as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic. Now, however, the supposedly final film in the Indiana Jones franchise is set to premiere on June 30th, 2023. Although little is known about the plot, Harrison Ford will return as the famous adventuring archaeologist Indiana Jones.
However, some viewers are reportedly worried that Harrison Ford may be too old to star in an action movie, considering he recently celebrated his 80th birthday on July 13th, 2022. Due to this, there were rumors for several years that Lucasfilm was considering recasting Indy with Chris Pratt. While Pratt initially seemed excited by this opportunity, he later dispelled rumors by explaining that Indy’s character was too strongly associated with Ford for him to step into the role. Lucasfilm studio president Kathleen Kennedy agreed, stating in one interview that they would not make any Indiana Jones movies without Ford playing the titular character.

This ensured that only Harrison Ford would get to portray Indiana Jones, but it still left questions about the actor’s age. In a recent interview, though, Boyd Holbrook, who plays a currently unknown character in Indiana Jones 5, explained that Ford is still completely capable of leading an action film.
