AEW Fight Forever’s second season of content is here, launching with the Dynamite pack. The first season brought with it a half-dozen new roster members alongside new content for mini-games, while the second season begins with the company’s most successful homegrown tag team, The Acclaimed as its showcase DLC alongside the 2022 AEW Dynamite stage. The Acclaimed’s Anthony Bowens and Max Caster have been known as DLC characters due to their X posts over the last few months about being scanned for the game – making their gaming debuts here in Fight Forever.
The Acclaimed are very much a modern-day version of what the Hollywood Blonds were in WCW where you have a pair of talents put together as a test and wind up with solid gold. The same would also hold true for something like the New Age Outlaws in WWE, which is even more fitting for this team as they welcomed Billy Gunn into the fold when he chose Bowens and Caster over his own sons to support on-air and wound up with a whole new run in the ring thanks to the three men now holding the AEW World Trios tag titles. Both members of The Acclaimed have been alive for less time than Billy Gunn has been wrestling and their in-game gear references their “Scissor Me, Daddy Ass” act – but Billy Gunn isn’t in the game yet.
The team being featured in this DLC is a huge win for them and the company as a whole because they’re a complete success story in every way and have gotten the whole “scissor me” bit over pretty nicely beyond just pro wrestling. Unfortunately, there isn’t much officially known about the rest of season two’s content right now.
