Terraria's creator revealed that it was getting one last update before developer Re-Logic moves on to its next game, with that update being 1.4.4 or 'Labor of Love'. It's coming sometime next month, and already it looks like Re-Logic is planning another game - Terraria 2.
Creator Andrew Spinks took to Reddit to share a rough draft of some early concept art (thanks, PCGamesN), showcasing "what T2's world map could look like." He added, "It's... rough so forgive me. This is a very early super rough concept, it is obviously going to change and none of the things you see here are in any way final".

As you can see embedded below, there's a giant tree, a volcanic landmass under siege from meteors, underground roots, caverns, and depths, as well as a whole lava-filled biome resembling Minecraft's Nether dimension. There's also a green acid-like underbelly, an upside-down heart, and a glowing yellow spire.
Regardless of how early in the stages this concept art is, it looks like Spink and Re-Logic's next game is Terraria 2, confirming that one of Steam's highest-rated titles is getting the sequel treatment. Though how much it will change and incorporate from the first remains to be seen, as it's clearly not in a state to be shown off to the community, still being in the design and concept phase.
